How To Stop The Snoring
Snoring is the sound that emanates from a
person who is experiencing an obstructed airway while they are sleeping. When breathing,
the obstruction causes airflow that moves in and out of the snorer’s respiratory system to move quicker than normal
thus becoming turbulent. This turbulence sets up a vibration of the surrounding
respiratory structures (throat, palate, nasal passages, uvula etc) that, in turn, makes the snoring sounds that we
hear. Some people snore relatively softly. Others, however, do so with
gusto.
Now, if you room with or sleep next to a
person who snores, you’ll have some idea what the noise is like and how loud and disturbing it can
become. The snoring may arouse you from your slumber at all hours of the night, making it
difficult to drift back off to sleep unless of course you can grab some ear plugs or bury your head deep under a
nest of pillows and several layers of bed clothes to block the sound out.
If you’re a snorer’s sleeping partner you’ve probably learnt how to stop the snoring temporarily by being
kind and loving enough to gently prod or shove them over on their side to lessen the
roar. This may work sometimes but snorers have a habit of rolling back to their previous
position only to begin the almighty din all over again. This often makes the sleeping
partner somewhat less forgiving as they try to find the closest heavy object to belt their snoring companion with
in a fit of desperation to achieve blissful silence.
Ask anyone who sleeps next to a human buzz
saw and they’ll tell you that being constantly woken in the middle of the night can get tiresome awfully
quickly. Especially if they’re already exhausted and have to get up early the next
morning to get the kids off to school or go to work.
While
we're describing the effects of snoring upon the hapless room-mate or sleeping partner, we should also spare a
thought for the poor individual who snores and has to contend with typical snoring side-effects such as
interrupted sleep, daytime drowsiness, fatigue, inability to focus and of course - ribbing from others around them
and possible threats of bodily harm from their sleeping partner!
So, with the
aforementioned in mind, some of the team here at How To Stop The
Snoring.net did a bit of
research and came across an exciting new solution for people searching for a simple,
non-surgical and drug free way for how to stop the snoring and get a good night's
sleep (snorer as well as partner). Now, being a little on the cynical side, and
given that it was said to be a “natural” system, we thought we’d take a closer look at it to see what the
snoring cures were all about.
A guy by the name of Christian Goodman from Oregon in
the USA has released a new program that is aimed at curing snoring for good. The name of his
program is called the Stop Snoring Exercise Program and is fully contained in an easy to get
digital download that provides all of the written instructions, illustrations and audio files for
every one of the exercises and procedures you need to follow in order to stop snoring
naturally.
What motivated
Christian to develop his "stop snoring" exercise program? Well, he was probably much like you and
me. A snorer - a terrible snorer who almost drove his family nuts. You see, he'd been a snorer
for some 20 years and tried just about everything – sprays, creams, pills as well as dental appliances but to no
avail. The thought of surgery scared him so it wasn't an option in his particular case.
Then, driven by desperation, and with some inspiration from his wife, he worked out how to stop his snoring through
trying a variety of exercises that focus on strengthening the structures of the throat and upper respiratory
system. After some initial trial and error he says he's now got it down
pat.
The
Stop Snoring Exercise Program requires you to spend around 3 minutes per day following the instructions
and performing the strengthening exercises outlined in the guide. Now if you're the type of person
that likes sitting down and reading guides only then I'm afraid that this alone won't stop your snoring.
You've actually got to do the exercises to make it work. That means following the written instructions,
diagrams and listening to the audio for around 3 minutes a day so you can stop snoring. If you can
find the time, are able to follow a consistent method and have the desire to stop snoring then Christian
says you can get some results on the first night after you commence the program and potentially cure your snoring
altogether within 2-4 weeks. This of course depends upon your particular snoring severity and
preparedness to follow the program.
As you may already know, snoring
is a common problem that affects millions of people - men, women and some children, the world
over. It may not be a problem for the snorer if mild airway obstruction is the primary cause of
snoring and the person is able to maintain sufficient oxygen levels throughout sleep. However, if
snoring is severe or can be attributed to an underlying cause that is more serious (e.g. obstructive sleep apnea)
then it's important to have it checked out by a physician so that an appropriate treatment regime can
be applied to help correct the problem. The Resources
Section of our website has more detail about the causes of snoring and what can be done about it.
This then leads us back to the
Stop Snoring Exercise Program discussed earlier. This snoring treatment isn't
about inserting dental devices in your mouth, hooking yourself up to a CPAP machine or undergoing potentially risky
and expensive surgery that doesn't always have a good success rate (and can sometimes make your snoring
worse). It's about how to stop the snoring at its root cause using natural means to do so.
It entails unblocking your airways by strengthening and improving your respiratory structures and getting the
essential oxygen into your system so that snoring doesn't occur or is vastly improved. So, if you've
been looking for remedies for snoring or snoring cures and you've either tried some lifestyle
changes, MAS devices, nasal strips or even surgery and they haven't seemed to work, then the
Stop Snoring Exercise Program may very well be a suitable snoring treatment for you.
If you suffer
from snoring either as a snorer, a room-mate or sleeping partner of a snorer then there's one very important fact you need to
know....
You are certainly
not alone.
Did you know that around 1 in 4 males are affected by snoring and that approximately
twice as many men snore than do women?
Did you also know
that:
-
Around 2 out of 3 people who have partners say that
the other partner snores.
-
Almost 6% of children snore regularly.
-
Sleep apnea affects almost 1 in 10 men and 1 in 25
women between the ages of 30-60.
-
Of all adults who snore, between 20-40 % have sleep
apnea
-
A person with untreated OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) has up to
a 400% greater risk of having a stroke and are 300% more likely to have heart disease.
With these eye
opening facts in mind, and when looking for possible snoring cures, what is a potential solution
that can:
-
Not only deal with the symptoms of
snoring but treat the root causes (airway blockages) as well;
-
Stop the snoring without using
a bevy of chemicals, medications and surgery; and
- Help get the relationship with your sleeping
partner back on track
I'd have to say that for my money, an
effective drug and surgery free method to stop snoring naturally that focuses on treating the root causes
of snoring (and not masking its symptoms), is outlined and explained in Christian Goodman's
Stop Snoring Exercise Program.
So you have an
idea of what's in it, here are a few snippets of what we found inside the
Stop Snoring Exercise Program.
-
An important and not well known breathing
exercise that changes the way you breathe and removes tension that blocks your throat and makes you
snore
-
An easy way to emulate
yawning over and over again that opens up the throat completely
-
The 2 single most effective sleeping positions
that reduce 90% of snoring the very first night you use them!
-
What you can do with a
soda bottle cap and a newspaper that completely opens up the throat in just 2 minutes (This tip is used
by professional singers).
-
How 3 extra pillows, when used correctly, can
instantly open up your airways and stop your snoring.
-
A startling 15 minute
exercise that could release mental tension that is cramping up your neck muscles allowing you
to end your snoring for days every time you use it.
-
The 3 single most awkward looking but extremely
powerful exercises that strengthens the tongue and cures the majority of snorers even if you don’t
exercise anything else.
-
How these same simple
exercises may even treat a serious underlying snoring disorder like sleep apnea (if you
believe you have sleep apnea, you should consult a qualified medical practitioner in the
first instance)
If you’re a snorer
like many people are or your partner is a snorer and are wondering how to stop the
snoring, or you haven't had much luck with nasal strips, dental appliances, medications or surgery, or
you’re simply asking yourself what snoring treatment is natural, gets to the root cause of the problem, is drug
free and doesn't require surgery, then be sure to check out the
Stop Snoring Exercise Program and let us know what you think about it by
email. I'd love to hear your feedback on this system to stop the snoring.
Best regards
Richard
